Baseball is off to a hot start this season, winning each of their first five games.

So far the Eagles have defeated Oxnard College twice (7-2 & 5-2), San Bernardino College twice (9-6 & 18-9) and Southwestern College once(7-1).

Offensively LA Mission has been very impressive averaging over 9 runs per game so far.

While these high scoring games are great, what the coaching staff is really happy with is the level of defense and pitching.

Most recently Anthony Donatella pitched 8 innings of shutout baseball against Southwestern College.

The above average rainfall in the area has pushed many baseball practices indoors which is less than ideal but the team still makes the most of their time.

Head Coach Joe Cascione says one of the biggest issues with the weather is that the team trains for each opponent with a specific goal in mind and that can mess with the athletes when games get rescheduled.

Fortunately their record speaks for itself up to this point and the rain doesn’t appear to have had much of a negative impact.

Fans should be sure check the LA Mission College athletics page frequently as all schedule updates will appear at the top of the home page.
