The Los Angeles Mission College Women's Volleyball team has come out swinging this season, boasting an impressive 9-0 record. This strong start has earned them a spot in the California Community College Women’s Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) State Top 25 Rankings at #15, with a perfect record!
The Road to 9-0: Highlights of the Season So Far
LAMC's momentum has been fueled by their recent victory at the 3rd Eagle Invitational, where they hosted and dominated the 8-team tournament. Their sweeping victories over East Los Angeles and Santa Monica, along with a hard-fought five-set win over Cerritos, have made it clear that the Eagles are a team to watch this season. Tawnie Ohrt, a freshman outside hitter, was named MVP of the Invitational, recording 15 kills in the win against Cerritos, further solidifying her role as a key player for the Eagles.
Another standout performer for LAMC has been sophomore Oluwatoyin Sunday. Sunday, an outside hitter, has racked up 78 kills over 20 sets, averaging 3.90 kills per set. Her consistent offensive contributions, along with a hitting percentage of .247, make her one of the most reliable attackers in the lineup.
In the setter role, sophomore Taylor Boone has been instrumental in coordinating the Eagles' offense. Boone has amassed 216 assists, averaging an impressive 9.82 assists per set, showcasing her ability to distribute the ball efficiently and set up her teammates for success.

LAMC has proven themselves among the top teams in the South, standing as one of only five undefeated teams, along with Long Beach City, Allan Hancock, and Santiago Canyon.
