Baseball Loses Close Game to Valley
On Saturday afternoon at Los Angeles Valley College the Eagles fought hard but were unable to hold their lead through the final inning.

Mission was first on the scoreboard after an impressive triple by Robert Reeves who scored off a double by Sam Gray in the second inning.
The Eagles really caught fire in the 6th inning scoring six more runs.
Victor Gonzalez, Josh Carlin, Alex Devito, Tyler Grissom, Robert Reeves and Lukas Granado all scored runs.
Devito, Gray, Granado, and Justin Minor recorded RBI’s in that inning.
At the bottom of the 9th inning Mission had the lead at 7-6 and the Valley Monarchs had the bases loaded.
Valley hit a sacrifice out to bring a runner in and tie the game.
The next batter up hit a single to left field.
The Eagles hustled to get the ball to home plate before the next runner could score, but the ball made it back just a second too late and Valley took the game 8-7.
It was a tough loss for Mission, but they still sit on top of the Western State-South Conference with a Record of 9-3 and an overall record of 19-7.
Mission is now 2-1 against the Monarchs this season and they will play again on Tuesday, March 28 at El Cariso Park at 2:30 p.m.
