2015 Men's Soccer Season Recap
The 2015 season came to an end on the road after a grueling 90 minutes that saw the Eagles fall 1-0 to Oxnard College. The Eagles had advanced to the Regional Finals for the first time since 2005. Oxnard scored just 8 minutes into the game as Gustavo Navarro, their leading goal scorer was left unmarked on top of the box as a cross came right to him.

The 2015 season came to an end on the road after a grueling 90 minutes that saw the Eagles fall 1-0 to Oxnard College. The Eagles had advanced to the Regional Finals for the first time since 2005. Oxnard scored just 8 minutes into the game as Gustavo Navarro, their leading goal scorer was left unmarked on top of the box as a cross came right to him.
The Eagles battled for 82 minutes and could not find that elusive goal that would send the game to overtime. Oxnard's goalie made an incredible save with less that 10 minutes left when Freshman Peyton Snedigar found a loose ball on top of the box and struck it to the near post, the goalie dove to his right and pushed the ball into the goalpost and it bounced away.
The Eagles post-season run was an incredible one as they defeated the no. 7 seed, Golden West College in the first round 1-0. The lone goal came at the feet of by the team's leading goalscorer, freshman Bryan Suarez (12) in the 82nd. minute. Then came the no. 2 seed (3rd in the state), Rio Hondo College in the second round. Rio Hondo struck first in the 60th minute on a counter attack. Freshman forward Carlos Solorio scored the tying goal in the 75 minute and the game eventually went to overtime. Neither team was able to get a goal in the extra 30 minutes and the game had to be decided on penalty kicks. The Eagles decided to shoot first and scored, Rio Hondo converted as well. After Fernando Orellana converted the second for the Eagles, Rio condo struck the post and the ball went wide. The Eagles converted their third and fourth shots and on Rio Hondo's fourth shot, freshman goalkeeper Esteban Chavez dove to his left and saved the penalty. The win set up the match up against conference rivals Oxnard College for a trip to the Final Four at De Anza College in Cupertino, California.
The 2015 season was the most successful one under current head coach Julio Castillo as the team went into the Southern California Regional Finals. They posted a 13-5-6* record ( 6-1-4 at home 7-4-1 away). They finished second in the WSC with a 10-2-4 record. Played in 24 overall games, ranked 2nd. in the state in assist with 78 and 11th in goals with 56. The team was lead by freshman midfielder Bryan Suarez with 12 goals (30 pts. total) followed by freshman forwards Carlos Solorio with 9 (23 pts. total) and Victor Martinez with 7 (16 pts. total) respectively. Freshman defender Erick Villatoro lead all players in assists with 16 (24 pts. total) and he was followed by sophomore team captain Jose Pelayo with 11 (21 pts. total) , freshman midfileder Oscar Algeria had 9 assists (15 pts. total).
