With our 2017 Men's soccer season approaching, we look into expectations and goals from Head Coach, Julio Castillo.
This will be Castillo's sixth season as head coach at L.A. Mission College, and he has taken the Eagles to four playoff appearances.
"This season will be an exciting one," says coach Castillo. "We have a lot of new faces and some of the freshmen show a lot of promise."
Our Eagles will be kicking off their season with game one next Tuesday, August 29 at Cuyamaca College.
"I can't wait for our first game because this group is very united, and they have shown a great deal of chemistry which is what we will need for the majority of our games being played away," says Castillo.
"Our immediate goal is to build a rhythm amongst the team, and stay consistent. Secondly to compete as hard as possible because we have the team to make playoffs," says Castillo.
The ultimate goal is to make the final four, which Mission has not done since 2006.
"I expect for this group of young men to be able to be mature enough to accomplish our goals and help us get to where we need to be."
Coach Castillo adds three new assistant coaches to the staff, and with their help and knowledge for the game he is confident about having a successful season.
