Men's Soccer Wins 3-1
L.A. Mission Men's Soccer defeats Pasadena City College 3-1 at home, Tuesday.
The Eagles had the ultimate offensive weapon in forward Javier Moran, who scored all three goals.
LAMC (2-3-2) enjoyed its first home match at El Cariso Park. Sophomore forward, Moran, lifted the Eagles when he scored on a penalty kick in the 12th minute after PCC goalie, Andrew Espinoza, was called for a foul.
In the 20th minute, Moran took a free kick from Angel Martinez, dribbled into the middle just outside the top of the 18-yard box and drove in another goal for a 2-0 Eagles lead. The Lancers answered back in the 32nd minute to make the score 2-1.
Just four minutes into the second half, Moran rifled a shot from 25 yards out to extend the lead 3-1.
The Lancers were not able to capitalize offensively, especially with six saves from Eagles' starting goalie Esteban Chavez, and two from Angel Noriega.
The Eagles are back on the road to face Long Beach City College, Friday, Sep. 22 at 4 p.m.
Soar on Eagles!
