The Los Angeles Mission College men's soccer team kept its perfect start intact with a 3–1 road victory over College of the Sequoias. All three Eagle goals came in a lightning-fast first half, giving Mission a commanding lead that they carried through despite a physical and card-heavy match.
First-Half Explosion
The Eagles wasted no time making their mark. Within minutes of the opening whistle, Christian Samayoa finished off a combination play assisted by Miguel Aguirre and Diego Ceja to make it 1–0. Moments later, Cristopher Martinez doubled the advantage, slotting home after a setup from Evan Reyes and Sebastian Montalvan.
Mission's momentum continued as Ceja added his third goal of the young season, finishing a pass from Julian Garcia Reynoso to push the lead to 3–0.
Second-Half Battle
The game turned physical after halftime, with multiple yellow cards and a red card issued to Mission's Sebastian Garcia. Playing a man down, the Eagles conceded in the 69th minute when Sequoias' Irvin Espinoza pulled one back off an assist from Edward Perez.
Despite the setback, Mission's defensive shape held firm. Goalkeepers Josue Orona and Bryan Guerrero split time and combined for the shutout through the run of play, while the back line kept Sequoias from mounting a serious comeback.
