Softball Player of the Week- Week 8

For the week of March 16th – March 21st

Melinda Alcantar

Went 9 for 15 with 18 RBI, 8 runs scored, a double, 2 grand slam homeruns and a sacrifice fly against Santa Monica, Antelope Valley and San Diego City College. Melinda finished the week with a .600 Batting average. In the game vs Antelope Valley Melinda’s grand slam came in the bottom of the 4^th inning with the eagles leading 2-0 to break the game wide open. Against Santa Monica College Melinda’s grand slam came in the top of the 4^th inning with the Eagles trailing 8-3 to bring the Eagles within one run. The Eagles eventually won that game. This is Melinda’s 6th Player of the Week selection.
