On November 26, 2024, the LA Mission College Eagles secured an electrifying 3-1 win over the Saddleback in a thrilling volleyball showdown at home. With precise teamwork and dominant performances, the Eagles rallied to deliver an impressive victory (21-25, 25-18, 28-26, 25-23).
The Bobcats opened the match strong, seizing the first set 25-21. Saddleback's balanced offense kept the Eagles on their heels, capitalizing on early opportunities to build momentum.
However, LA Mission quickly regrouped, turning the tide in the second set. Led by Tawnie Ohrt, who recorded a team-high 13 kills, and Amya Cheatham January, who added 9 kills with a .278 hitting percentage, the Eagles fired back with a 25-18 win. Defensive tenacity from players like Iliana Garcia, who tallied 13 digs, helped neutralize Saddleback's attacks.
The pivotal third set showcased both teams' resilience and skill. In a nail-biter that pushed into extra points, LA Mission held their composure under pressure.
