LA Mission College Women’s Volleyball Defeats San Bernardino Valley
LA Mission College women's volleyball team kicked off their season with a thrilling home match against San Bernardino Valley, securing a hard-fought victory in four sets.
The match kicked off with both teams showcasing their skills, but it was LA Mission who struck first, taking the opening set 28-26. Oluwatoyin Sunday was a standout performer, delivering powerful attacks that kept San Bernardino on their toes. Her aggressive play helped establish a lead, but the visitors fought back relentlessly, making for a thrilling first set.
The second set saw San Bernardino Valley push back hard. Ultimately sneaking away with a 29-27 win. This set showcased the resilience of both teams, with each point hotly contested and the crowd on the edge of their seats. In the third set, LA Mission College regrouped and refocused. The team's communication and defensive strategies clicked into place. Rio Sandaiji and Lillian Pisarczyk also made significant contributions, with Sandaiji adding 10 kills and Pisarczyk providing 7, both maintaining high hitting percentages that showcased their efficiency. Delivering crucial kills that lifted their team to a 25-19 victory. The energy shifted back to LA Mission College, and they began to find their rhythm.
With the match on the line, the fourth set proved to be just as nail-biting.They edged out San Bernardino Valley, winning the final set 27-25 and sealing the match.
