Another match, another win for the Los Angeles Mission College Eagles. On Saturday night, Mission defended its home court with a gritty 3–1 victory over Pasadena City College (25–20, 27–25, 20–25, 25–22), closing out a long day of volleyball with poise and power.
Eagles Strike Early
The Eagles came out sharp, using strong swings from Temple Vasquez and Maddie Perry to claim the first set 25–20. The momentum carried into the second, where Mission weathered a late Pasadena surge. A couple of key blocks and a kill from Perry sealed a thrilling 27–25 set, putting the Eagles up 2–0.
Pasadena Pushes Back
Pasadena wasn't going down without a fight. Behind Bobbie Torres (18 kills) and Delaney Blied (10 kills), the Lancers turned the tables in set three, handing Mission a 25–20 setback and forcing a fourth.
Closing Time
With the match tightening, Mission leaned on its depth and defense. Tawnie Ohrt (15 kills) delivered in crunch time, while Amya Cheatham January turned the net into a wall with 7 solo blocks and 7 block assists. Mission edged out Pasadena 25–22 in the final frame to secure the victory.
